Natural Cure For Toothache
Monday, June 21st, 2010There are many people who want a natural cure for toothache.
Toothache pain is one of the worst types of pain that anybody can suffer with. Because it is there constantly, it can be difficult to think about anything else. So curing a toothache is going to high on the list of priorities for anybody that has it.
Before I move on to possible natural toothache cures, I just want to give you a little information on what causes toothaches. The biggest problem is gum disease.
Gum disease has never been so high. The biggest reason for this is the modern diet. The amount of sugar that is consumed in various forms in this day and age is scary. There seems to be sugar in virtually everything that we eat and drink. So changing your diet to foods that have low levels of sugar is clearly going to beneficial.
The other big problem is acid. I know that people say that it is healthy to eat fruit, and that is a correct assumption. However many citrus fruits contain a lot of acid and it is this acid which will wear away at your teeth over time. So if you do eat a lot of fruit, make sure that you brush your teeth after you eat a piece of fruit. You can ignore this advice if you want, but sooner or later it will result in toothache pain.
Ways to use a natural cure for toothache.
In my opinion and experience, one of the best toothache cures that you can use is oil of cloves. You can get hold of this pretty much anywhere. A drop or two applied to the offending tooth can get rid of tooth pain almost instantly. The oil seeps into the gum, and numbs it, and gives you some pain relief.
Another way to numb the area is to put some ice against the tooth. But this is not a viable option if the ice causes more pain. An alternative method is to get an ice pack wrapped in some material, and place on the cheek on the side where the toothache pain is occurring.
Mix a little pepper with a little salt and rub it on the tooth and the gum area surrounding the painful tooth. This can often offer instant relief and is a good toothache remedy.
Another natural remedy for toothache is an onion. Get a small piece of raw onion and chew it gently with the tooth that is hurting. This allows the juice from the onion to sink into the gum, and helps to get rid of toothache pain. Onion juice is known to contain anti bacterial properties.
These are some really good natural remedies to cure a toothache, and if you cannot get to the dentist, I strongly recommend that you try them.
